Moms Speak Out at Miami-Dade School Board Public Hearing about Wi-Fi Health Dangers
This past Wednesday, we spoke at the Miami-Dade County School Board public hearing. Miami-Dade school moms, Crystal Andrews & Vivian Cisneros who is also an Environmental Toxicologist, had briefly spoken to Superintendent, Alberto M. Carvalho a few months past about why they want WiFi removed from their children’s school.
After various calls & emails, they were not responded to for a follow-up meeting. As soon as Crystal walked into the building ?Wednesday evening?, she ran into Carvalho who told her that EMF & RF radiation is simply a part of the world we live in & that her and her children were probably exposed to more radiation on the way to the meeting than children are exposed to in schools.
Vivian, an expert on the topic, researched newly installed routers in her child’s school & discovered they were 5G-compatible.
Previously, during the process of passing the first 5G resolution in the state of Florida in Hallandale Beach, we discovered that cities do not regulate anything to do with cell towers on school properties. Obviously, we already know state & federal pre-emptions hinder city regulation on telecom in general. However, right-of-way building permits are still requested for cell towers on public city property. Public schools are not considered city property.
Therefore, we signed up to speak at the hearing for a non-agenda item. In general, people were not receptive to what we had to say. Board members were uninterested to say the least, & the crowd was no-where near engaged. One of the hot topics at the meeting was ADHD – which has been linked to RF exposure. Most people are still blind to this connection. As WiFi & smart devices have become more popular, ADHD rates have also increased along with MANY other health, learning and behavioral issues in children and young adults who have been bathing in radiation their entire lives.
We were a bit disappointed following our speeches after a long day of back and forth from the school board building. However, this was a good learning experience & considering the Miami-Dade county school district is the 4th largest in the country, our Miami mom warriors will not give up. The school board now knows we are paying attention to what’s happening in our schools, & we will not stay silent.
We left the board members packets of information including signed letters from Devra Davis of Environmental Health Trust & again requested a direct meeting. We are working on bigger, better-executed strategies for the next time. Broward School Board will also be addressed soon.
Special shout out to @king19truy who also bravely spoke at the meeting after directly experiencing health effects from a cell tower located on his high school grounds;
To @queencuffy for preparing a speech & making the attempt to be there twice in one day;
To firefighter @mk4mike for going out of his way to be there early in the afternoon while also battling & educating his squadron about the dangers & history on cell towers on fire stations & working on solutions.
To Karen from @5gtechnologynews for driving all the way from Boca to show support & starting her own independent media organization. Give her a follow!
To everyone else that showed up in the afternoon & could not wait around for us to speak & to the other people who showed support with their messages.
We’re all in this together & we will continue standing up for our basic human rights.
