Hallandale Beach Town Hall Meeting Invitation
Are you a South Florida local and want to learn more about 5G and/or about what you can do in your city to challenge new 5G cell towers going up near you? Our crew will be speaking at the Hallandale Beach town hall meeting tomorrow, Thursday, March 21 at 7 pm. We’ll be freely expressing ourselves to local residents many of the reasons we don’t want 5G in our neighborhoods.
Then, on April 3, Wednesday, the actual resolution we’ve been working on since the first week of December 2018 will be presented during the commission meeting. Our talks that night will be more geared toward realistic reasons to convince the commission to take action against 5G technology in our city streets.
As made so by the Telecommunications Act of 1996, health concerns cannot be used as reasons to prevent cell towers from going up. The FCC has also stripped cities of their power to regulate cellular technology. Therefore, creative business reasons must be utilized to support a 5G resolution. Utilizing health consequences/safety concerns in resolution language is pointless, since federal law protects Telecom from being challenged in this way.
As we’ve mentioned many times, by NO MEANS is this the only action we will take. However – requesting our city protect its residents – is a box that needs to be checked.
